Battery Installation Assumptions
All circuits required to provide backup power during a grid outage are protected by Type A RCDs.
Battery Location & Installation Requirements
Controlled Tariffs (T31 & T33)
Unless otherwise advised prior to installation, all appliances currently connected to Ergon Energy controlled tariffs (T31 & T33) — including hot water systems, pools, and air conditioners — will be rewired to Tariff 11. This ensures maximum benefit from your solar and battery system. Where specific timing or load control is required, installation of timers is recommended.
Ergon Energy – Solar Connection Fees & Charges
Please note that Ergon Energy connection fees are not included in this quotation or proposal. Any applicable charges are billed directly by Ergon Energy to the electricity account holder.
Standard Connection
In most cases, no Ergon Energy fees apply for a standard fixed-export or zero-export connection. If further assessment is required, an assessment fee of $120 may apply.
Dynamic Connection
Where Ergon Energy offers a Dynamic Connection (allowing higher or variable export limits), an assessment fee of $120 typically applies. For systems requesting more than 15 kVA, the assessment fee is $391. These fees are non-refundable and cover Ergon Energy’s engineering review and connection approval process.
Ergon Communication
All Ergon connection application communications are issued via email to the Ergon account holder and the G-Solar office. Where an application incurs an Ergon fee, G-Solar will issue an additional email to the customer to ensure they are aware of the payable fee and the corresponding email issued by Ergon. Any delay in customer response may result in a delay to the progression of the Ergon application.
Where an Ergon Dynamic Connection is applicable, and following payment of the required application fee to Ergon, Ergon advises that processing may take up to sixty-five (65) business days from the date of customer acceptance of the Dynamic Connection.
